Facebook Security

I think the new Facebook security will help a little bit, but not enough. It will never be 100% safe. My brother says that the government owns Facebook, but I don't know, maybe. He thinks they have it to be able to know things about people. It's kind of like the new Google Earth version. It go see things at an angle. It can even let you get close enough to be able to see a car's license plate. That's very dangerous. Facebook is an information resource. I think Facebook is very bad, but I should not be talking, because I use Facebook a lot. It's bad, but it's fun!

Typing

What do you think you did well? I think I'm doing great with errors. I only made one last two times. But I think it was because I was trying to go fast because the time was about to run out. I don't know if I'm doing great with speed. I'm very slow. I try to get every word correct. What do you feel are the short comings for this typing program? A short coming for Typing Master would have to be the hard words they give... also, the speed on the games, to fast! What do you think is the difference between Gross Speed and Net Speed? I don't really know what Gross Speed and Net Speed is but maybe Gross Speed is how fast you type and Net Speed is... I have no idea. For Gross and Net Speed my goal for the winter is 17 wpm and Accuracy 100%.

Map Testing

We had Map Testing last week. I think I did pretty well. They made me feel worried at first. But after I finished the first test my problems vanished. During each test I felt sick. I just wanted to finish as fast as possible. I tried to read each question and understand them perfectly, but I just couldn't. I think it was the nerves. Each time I received my overall grade I felt happy and not as dumb as I thought I was.

This "Map Testing" thing is, in my opinion, a great thing. Even though I don't like them very much I think it's something good our school is making us do. I know this test is something good because they show how much I've improved or not. If I'm not doing well they can help me catch up with everybody else and go on for a good future. If I've improved they can keep giving me the education I need and keep improving. I think we should keep taking this tests as we always do. But of course, they should keep getting harder every time as we grow and become smarter. Map testing helps us a lot.
If I would change anything about map testing it would be to make less questions. I would say like 30 questions max. I think 45 is too many questions for a test. Other than that I don't think I would change anything else.

Social Media

   I'm involved in social media in many different ways. I go on Facebook almost everyday for about half an hour. I don't really like to be on the computer for a long time though. I use Facebook to talk to friends, watch other people's photos, meet knew people, and add photos myself. I also go on You Tube a lot. I like to watch funny videos or impressive videos. The kinds of videos that you get shocked with. These are examples of how I'm involved with social media.

   Social media can be very dangerous if you use it wrong. When you have a Facebook or Myspace account and you put all your info in it other people, bad people, have the chance to see it too. They can see from where you live to what your favorite color is. This info makes it easier for kid nappers to kid nap you. This is not that hard to prevent. When you create an account you can put none of the info about you or your family that they ask you to. Also, never add as friends people you don't know. Not even if your friends know them. These are all dangerous things about social media and ways you can prevent them.

   I know just the right thing we should be learning right now to use social media safely. I think we should be learning how to use it but to control it well also. We should be learning what to do and what to not do. This way we can interact with social media safely and the right way. If we don't learn this we will keep using internet in danger. We will give people the opportunity to trick us and do bad things. I don't think it would be hard to learn how to do this without danger of this things. This is my opinion of what we should be learning and why.
